Echinacea purpurea, E. angustifolia, E. pallida
Echinacea is one of the most used and best anti-infection herbs. It has been used for toxicosis, bacterial and viral infections, tissue trauma, snakebites, and inflammations. It is most effective when taken at the onset of the symptom(s).
Echinacea comes from the Asteraceae (Daisy) family.
Function: Clear Toxic Heat and Reduce Fever and Infection

Other Uses: Native American Indians use Echinacea while in sweat lodges to endure the extreme temperatures.
Edible Uses: The leaves can be eaten but due to their prickliness and bitterness, they aren't used too often.
